How To Repair Popped Rivets On Boots

How do I fix a broken buckle rivet?
My wifes Rossi-boots lost a rivet in the buckles. The rivets are 3 mm and my first thougt was to insert a 3 mm bolt and a nut. Unfortionately there is no room for a nut if I put the bolt from the outside in, and I can't fit a bolt from the iside out either since I cant get the bolt in without cutting it as well short. Guess there must exist some snart standard solution for this? And no, in that location is no good ski shops arond hither.

This is going to exist hard to explicate because I don't know what they're called. But in the past I've drilled out broken rivets and used these modest T shaped basics that prepare into the pigsty and take spikes on their skirt, like a built in washer, that dig into the plastic on the inside of the vanquish.
Then information technology's pocket-size spiral counterpart, like a tiny little flat caput that threads into the outside shell through the hole in the buckle and pulls the spiked nut flush against the inside of the beat...
Does that brand whatever sense at all?
Edit: oh, that rivet. Never mind....

If y'all tin can find stainless rivets that fit, you're better off. Aluminum rivets will intermission after a while, but will hold information technology together long plenty to finish a trip.

I aptitude a buckle. Took it to the local shop, and 1 day and $15 later it was fixed. Looks like you need a gyre pin - probably available at Ace Hardware, skilful auto parts store, or auto shop.
